My name is Sam.  I am a composer, sound designer, and drummer, and music has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember.  

    After finishing high school I earned a B.F.A in music, with a focus on jazz performance and composition.  I began playing regularly with a number of different groups, and have been fortunate enough to study and work with some of Canada's top musicians. 

    After that I went on the complete an M.A. in composition, where I further developed my skills as a writer and branched out into a wider range of styles.  I also studied film scoring and electronic music, which led me to develop a love for analogue synthesizers and sound design.

    Since then I have worked on numerous film projects and composed for a wide variety of ensembles, from string quartet to jazz big band.  If you'd like to work together please feel free to reach out- I would love to be part of your next project!
